Note: This process only refers to local transfers in the state of Florida and may vary depending upon which state you reside in and conduct a FFL transfer. Ensure that you follow ALL local, state and federal regulations when conducting a FFL transfer.
When you purchase a firearm from an online retailer and would like Foxhole Tactical to transfer the firearm to you locally, there is a specific process to follow. Once you purchase the firearm and select Foxhole Tactical, LLC as your FFL transfer agent, you will need to provide the seller’s contact information to us at support@foxholetactical.com.
We will contact the seller and initiate the transfer. The seller will ship your newly purchased firearm to us. This process usually takes from 3-5 business days but is entirely dependent upon the seller.
Once your firearm is received, we will contact you to schedule a date/time to fill out an ATF form 4473 and a background check with FDLE. With a “proceed” result from FDLE we can schedule transfer of the firearm to you either three business days later or if you qualify according to Florida state statutes, the 3-day waiting period can be waived and transfer is immediate.

Note: There is a $20.00 transfer fee for each firearm and a $5.00 fee for the FDLE background check. These fees are non-refundable and are due at time of background check (Cash, check or credit cards are accepted).
Please be aware that due to recent legislature in Tallahassee, some guns laws may have changed since your last firearm transfer.
- Must be 21 years of age. Rifles and shotguns may be purchased by a person who is at least 18 when that person is a law enforcement officer or correctional officer as defined in F.S. 943.10 or service member as defined in F.S. 250.01.
- Must be a Florida resident to purchase a handgun. Long guns may be purchased by persons who are residents of other states so long as the sale complies with applicable laws in the purchaser’s state of residence.
- Legal permanent resident aliens who are Florida residents may purchase a firearm and must provide a valid alien registration number. Non-resident aliens visiting Florida must present a border crossing number (I-94) and a valid exception document.
- Florida does not require a permit to purchase a firearm nor is there a permit that exempts any person from the background check requirement.
- There is a waiting period of three days, excluding weekends and state holidays, between purchase and delivery of all firearms. Individual counties and cities have the authority to enact local ordinances extending the waiting period to as much as five days. Please consult local ordinances for more detailed information.
- There is no limit to the number of firearms that may be transferred in a single transaction. The transaction is considered complete once the dealer has completed and signed the ATF Form 4473. An additional transfer (whether minutes later, the next day, or the next month) requires an additional background check.
- Driver’s License or other valid Government-issued identification
- CCW License (if applicable)

- Payment for transfer fees and background check
Your firearm will be checked for condition upon receipt. Functionality will NOT be checked by our staff.

You will be required to complete an ATF Form 4473 and a background check through FDLE. A link to the FDLE tracking website will be provided along with your queue number in order to enable you to track your background check status in realtime.
- A “Proceed” result is required prior to transfer of any firearm to you. Once the background check is completed, you will need to return 3 business days later to receive your firearm (unless you provide a copy of your CCW license).
- In the event of a “Delayed” result from FDLE, we will be unable to transfer the firearm to you. In this case, we will continue to attempt to get a “Proceed” result. If we do not receive a “proceed” result at the end of 3 business days, we are allowed to release the firearm to you.
- In the event of a “Denied” result from FDLE, we will be unable to transfer the firearm to you. You have the right to appeal any denied result via FDLE and the staff will walk you through that process if it occurs. It will be incumbent upon you to contact your seller to arrange return/refund of your firearm. In this case, we will maintain possession of the firearm until you are able to facilitate the return of the firearm to the FFL from which you purchased it (at your cost), as the firearm will NOT be turned over to you for shipment. Note: a $20 monthly holding fee will be charged until you are able to arrange for disposition of the firearm.
